dc.description.abstract | This study is entitled Contemporary Political Poems: An Analysis on its Effect on the Reader which aims to know the effects of contemporary political poems on the readers and how would they asses themselves based on what they have read. An In-depth interview (IDI) and Focus-group discussion was conducted to 14 English Major Students studying in UMTC. 7 for IDI and 7 for FGD. There were four major themes emerged from research question number 1, three major themes came out from research question number 2, and five major themes that arose from research question number 3. The data obtained from the study was coded and analyzed using the data reduction, thematic analysis, drawing conclusions and verification. The analyzing of data from research number 1 showed that Sadness, Realization, Awareness, and Misled Perception were the emerging themes presented on the effects of the contemporary political poems in their views. Regarding on how do readers assess the influence of the contemporary political poems in their views there were three major themes came out namely Meaningfulness, Persuasiveness, and Enlightenment. In terms of their insights on the importance of the writer's style in influencing the readers in their political views there were five major themes emerged, to mention; Cautiousness, Clarity of Message, Evocativeness, Relevance of the Theme, and Influenceability. In summary, contemporary political poems have a significant effect on the readers. It provided them an experience where it affected their views and their insights. | en_US |
