dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted to assess the social-emotional and character development of criminology students in University of Mindanao Bansalan College. Descriptive survey method was used as research design. Relative frequency, mean, t-Test for Independent Samples, and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) were used as statistical tools. There were 100 criminology students who were involved in the study who were determined using slovin’s formula. Data revealed that the level of social-emotional and character development of criminology students was very high, thus, respondents have high levels of prosocial behavior, honesty, self-development, self-control and respect. Moreover, results showed that there is no significant difference in the level of social-emotional and character development of criminology students when analyzed by age and gender. On the other hand, data showed significant difference in the level of social-emotional and character development as analyzed by year level and monthly income which means that college year level and socio-economic status of students have bearing in promoting social-emotional and character development. It is recommended that the school administration should formulate and implement an enhancement program which focuses on developing the social-emotional and character development of criminology students. Teachers should maintain and improve good practices in their classroom behavior management approaches which support emotional intelligence, social behavior and positive characters of students with the involvement of parents, family, and peers. | en_US |
