Assessment of the learning resource center of Holy Cross of Davao college : basis for a five-year development plan
Abstract
This study was conducted to establish the present status of the HCDC-LRC and to
establish a library development plan that will aid the institution in reaching its goal of
attaining a university status. With a descriptive – document review method, the HCDC LRC was assessed in its compliance to library standards in the various areas such as
administration, collection, personnel, services and use and physical facilities. Using the
library standards of the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission
on Accreditation (PACUCOA), among the five areas evaluated, the library’s physical
facilities had the lowest compliance percentage of only 33% while the area on services
and use was the only area with 100% compliance. Areas on administration, collection and
personnel partially complied with 57%, 71% and 78% compliance respectively. Likewise,
the formulation of a five-year plan of the HCDC – LRC to support its institutional direction
was established in the study.
