| dc.description.abstract | The study was conducted to determine the significant relationship between
investment opportunities and risk-taking of entrepreneurs. The study utilized a
quantitative descriptive correlational research design. The respondents were 354
licensed micro business owners of Samal Island. In analyzing the data, frequency,
mean, and chi-square test were used. Results revealed that the family and friends
presented the highest frequency of investment opportunities followed by private or
public banks, cooperatives, and business associations. The level of risk-taking of
entrepreneurs has a mean score of 1.14, which interpreted as very low. Moreover,
the test for the relationship between investment opportunities and risk-taking
resulted in a p-value of.262, which means that there is no significant relationship
between investment opportunities and risk-taking. Government agencies like the
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) may conduct programs and seminars
supporting and fortifying entrepreneurship related to investment and risk programs
to help the entrepreneurs of Samal Island comprehend the wide range of investment
possibilities, opportunities, and risks associated in their micro businesses. The
entrepreneurs of Samal Island might benefit from this in ensuring the longevity of
